Join us on Saturday, June 30th, 2012 for our
10th Annual Freedom 5K
The Freedom 5k has become an annual event in Milton each summer, providing a fun and laid back experience. Currently in its 10th year, it is a great road race for newcomers and veterans, runners and walkers alike. The course is very flat; a great place to set a personal record! As always, ice cream will be served and prizes will be raffled off after the race!
When: Saturday, June 30, 2012
Registration and bib pickup: 4:45 pm
Children's Mile Fun Run: 5:15 pm
5k Run/Walk: 6:00 pm
Ice cream, Awards, and Prizes: Following the 5K. Racers and their families are all welcome to enjoy ice cream and fruit.
Where: The race begins at the Milton Recreational Park, behind the Town Municipal Building and Fire Department off Bombardier Road. Registration is on the far side of the block house.
We're looking for volunteers!
A race like this can't happen without the help of many volunteers. Please email us at milton5k@yahoo.com if you're interested in helping out. We're looking for lead cyclists, traffic directors, ice cream scoopers, and finish line volunteers.
Course Descriptions:
Children's Mile: Two loops around the inside of the Recreational Park. Parent's can run along side their little runner or cheer as they go by.
5K: The course begins and ends at the Recreational Park, with a loop, about 1.25 miles long, in the middle. The course is very flat. A water station is near the halfway point of the race.
Directions:
From interstate 89 Exit 17: Head north on Route 7 for about 3.5 miles. Take a right onto Bombardier Road, and then your first right into the Recreational Park. Proceed to registration on the far side of the block house.
